Michael F. Gebhart FAIA was contracted by Anwaar Al Ghanim Consulting Engineers in Kuwait to produce concept designs for the Farwaniya Cultural Center on a site connecting the area of the new Sabah Al-Salem University Campus and the Farwaniya neighborhood. Mr. Gebhart formed a concept design team of Ricardo Camacho, Principal at Casa Granturismo, Ed Nilsson, AIA, Principal at Nilsson & Siden Associates and Christopher Gebhart AIA, Principal at the GebhartStudio to collaborate with Shahvand Yousefzadeeh of Archi-Comp Kuwait/Al Ghanim Consulting Engineers team. Work began in the spring of 2017.
The Equate Headquarters building in Ahmadi, Kuwait is now moving ahead towards occupancy after a delay. The opening will be i November 2017. Dar Gulf Consult was commissioned to provide additive new program elements to the original design.
The original design was designed in 2006 with Mr. Gebhart as Design Consultant working with the Dar Gulf Consult team of architects and engineers.
The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) Stadium & Indoor Sporting Facility is in operation in the Shuwaikh Area of Kuwait City.
The original facility was designed in 2008 with Mr. Gebhart as Design consultant with The Associated Engineering Partnership (TAEP) team of architects and engineers.The Cambridge, Ma. firm of Symmes/Maini & McKee Associates joined the team during the Preliminary Design Phase.

Mr. Gebhart's team provided 3 concept design alternatives for the Farwaniya Cultural Center.
Recently Mr. Gebhart provided a concept design proposal for an indoor Public Skating/Hockey Facility for the Town of Norwood, Massachusetts, working within the Amacher Associates Architects team in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Mr. Gebhart provided Concept Design Services for The Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) in Ahmadi, Kuwait, working again with Dar Gulf Consult Kuwait.
The Associated Engineering Partnership (TAEP) in Kuwait, commissioned Mr. Gebhart to provide an alternate design for The Traffic Directorate Headquarters in Kuwait.
Mr. Gebhart was invited to Lead a Sketching Workshop at the 2013 Student AIA South Quad Conference at North Carolina State University with Dean Marvin Malecha on April 6, 2013. A great and wonderful event and slso seeing the students terrific sketchbooks....drawing is still alive and well in the South!!!
Mr. Gebhart was recently contracted to provide the Concept Design for a Confidential Corporate Headquarters Design Competition in the Middle East.
Working with Al Ghanin Consulting Engineers (AGCE), Mr. Gebhart is providing Concept Design Services for a performing arts center for the Kuwait Public Authority of Youth (PAYS).The project, Theater For Youth at Ardiya, located in Ardiya, Kuwait will house a 1200 Seat Main Theater, two secondary 400 seat theaters, an art gallery, cafeteria, management offices, VIP facilities, a press meeting hall, four rehearsal studios, two ballet training halls, gymnasium, classrooms, library, an outdoor 400 seat theater, and parking for 1000 cars. Still under review by the Municipality.
Mr.Gebhart, Designed a Concept Design Scheme for a 200 Room Hospital/400 Room Hotel, with Diagnostic, Treatment Spa, Administration and Car Park Facilities for a confidential Developer/Architect Consortium for a site in Beijing, China.
Mr. Gebhart Designed a Concept Design Scheme for Hotel facility for a confidential Developer/Architect Consortium near the Holy Shrines in Karbala, Iraq to provide 500 rooms with cafes, Retail, Health Clubs, Prayer Rooms and Car Park Facilities.
Mr. Gebhart, created a concept design for a 12 level Feasibility Study Cancer Care Facility in Bangalore, India. It proposes a 100 bed facility, A roof-top hotel function zone and terrace, on top of one hotel room level, four bed suite levels over two levels of a mechanical/electrical rooms, and conference floors in the tower. These all sit atop two levels of diagnostic, administration offices, reception, waiting and triage areas connected to a medical retail mall connecting the new facility to an existing facility. Two visitor, staff parking levels, emergency, receiving, mechanical and storage areas are beneath.
Recent Awards 2009 AIA Fellowship
The 2009 Jury of Fellows from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) elevated Michael Francis Gebhart of Cambridge, Massachusetts, to its prestigious College of Fellows. He was honored for making significant contributions to the profession in design and visualization, both nationally and internationally. Of a total AIA membership of nearly 86,000, there are fewer than 2,765 distinguished with the honor of Fellowship.
Mr. Gebhart received his Fellowship medal during the Investiture of Fellows Ceremony at the 2009 National AIA Convention and Design Exposition in San Francisco on May 1, 2009 at the Grace Cathedral.
